Lincoln Pantiles
A Bolder Take on Traditional Pantiles
The Lincoln Clay Pantile is a distinctive handmade clay tile unique to William Blyth. Sharing the elegant curvature of our classic Barco pantile but with a deeper pan and a bolder roll, this tile brings added definition and character to any roofscape. Originally introduced in the early 1900s, it remains a testament to our enduring craftsmanship.
Crafted by hand using rich Humber alluvial clay, each Lincoln pantile is traditionally fired in our historic coal-fired kilns, resulting in natural colour variations and a robust, weathered texture that matures beautifully over time.
Whether you’re re-roofing a period building, working within a conservation area, or designing a new property with heritage in mind, our Lincoln Clay Pantiles offer timeless appeal, long-life performance, and architectural authenticity.

*Handmade clay tiles are subject to small variations in size because of the drying and firing shrinkage within the manufacturing process. Before deciding on the batten gauge and linear coverage, the roof tiler should inspect each batch of tiles to ensure that the correct minimum head lap and side lap are achieved. Unless otherwise stated, specification and fixing guide is based on the tiles laid at minimum head lap.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Lincoln Clay Pantiles different from Barco Pantiles?
Lincoln Pantiles have a deeper pan and more pronounced roll, which gives them extra definition and shadowing on the roof. They’re a bold alternative to the softer curves of our Barco tiles.
Are Lincoln Pantiles suitable for listed buildings?
Yes. Their handmade finish, natural tones, and historical lineage make them ideal for listed properties and conservation projects, especially throughout Lincolnshire and the East of England.
Can I match Lincoln Pantiles to existing roof tiles?
Absolutely. Our heritage colours and bespoke tile matching service help ensure continuity across restoration and extension work.
