The Great Pottery Throw Down
We are pleased to share that William Blyth will once again be featured on The Great Pottery Throw Down, airing on Sunday 8th February 2026 on Channel 4.
This episode will see our own skilled potter, Gabriel Nichols, appear as a guest judge. It marks his second in-person appearance on the programme and the third time William Blyth products have featured.
Filmed at the historic Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke-on-Trent, The Great Pottery Throw Down celebrates skill, material knowledge, and traditional techniques — values that align closely with how we work at William Blyth.

Guest Judge Gabriel Nichols
In this episode, the remaining potters are challenged to create terracotta tagines, with Gabriel Nichols overseeing a major judging task. This appearance follows a previous episode in which contestants were asked to replicate one of our Hedgehog Homes, bringing William Blyth’s handmade pottery into the national spotlight and demonstrating the continued relevance of traditional clay forms in contemporary practice.
As a skilled potter at William Blyth, Gabriel is known for his considered, material-led approach to ceramics, rooted in a deep understanding of clay and traditional making. His work can be followed on social media under ‘Gabriel Nichols Pottery’.
