Heritage Filming Location
In early November, William Blyth was proud to welcome Northern Films to our Barton-upon-Humber site for their upcoming production, Dastaar — a powerful British drama exploring themes of faith, identity, and legacy.
Our working tile yard, where traditional handmade clay roof tiles have been crafted for over 180 years, was chosen as a filming location and provided the atmospheric backdrop for a key action sequence in the film. Over the course of four days, the production team transformed part of the site into the villain’s hideout, staging an intense stunt sequence that forms the film’s dramatic climax.
While the scene contrasts sharply with our usual rhythm of craft and kiln work, we were honoured that the filmmakers recognised the character and authenticity of our historic setting. It’s a reminder that William Blyth’s tile yards are more than places of work—they’re living pieces of British heritage that continue to inspire creativity today.
We extend our thanks to the Northern Films crew for their care, professionalism, and respect for our site throughout filming. We look forward to seeing Dastaar on screen and are proud to have played a small part in bringing this meaningful story to life.
