Plain Tiles Hertfordshire
This private residence in Hertfordshire was designed by Cowper Griffiths Architects and called for a roof covering that would sit comfortably within its setting while delivering long-term performance.
From the outset, the brief focused on proportion, material integrity and a roofscape that would weather naturally over time. William Blyth supplied Weathered Plain Tiles alongside a full range of matching handmade roof tile fittings, including discreet air vents, to ensure visual consistency across the roof. Approximately 20,800 tiles were used in total for this project.
First discussed in May 2022, the project involved ongoing collaboration through to completion of the external works in 2024, now resulting in a roof that combines quiet architectural presence with the enduring character of traditional handmade clay.
