This private new build in Saffron Walden, Essex demonstrates how handmade clay roof tiles can bring depth, character, and authenticity to contemporary residential design.
Working in partnership with Wicken Group, William Blyth supplied a carefully considered blend from our Classic Range in January 2026. The combination of Orange, Weathered, and Antique tiles creates a natural variation across the roofscape, reflecting the tonal richness traditionally associated with heritage clay roofs.
A full suite of fittings was included within the specification, from plain tiles through to eaves, gables, ridge, and valley tiles, ensuring consistency in both performance and appearance. The blended approach allows the roof to sit comfortably within its surroundings, while maintaining the durability and long-life performance expected of traditional clay roof tiles.
This project highlights how the Classic Range offers a practical and aesthetically sensitive solution for new build developments, combining trusted craftsmanship with a balanced, natural finish suited to modern homes.
