Corrugated Tiles Devon
This roofing project in Devon showcases William Blyth’s Handmade Weathered Corrugated Tiles paired with our Weathered Plain Tiles, creating a distinctive roof that balances heritage character with practical performance.
The home has a rich history, having previously been roofed in thatch. Many of the original, uneven rafters remain, preserving the building’s character while adding complexity to the roofing work. The transition from plain tiles at the lower levels to corrugated tiles above gives the roof a striking finish and supports effective water management.
The plain tiles help disperse larger volumes of water that can build up in the rolls of the corrugated tiles, improving drainage into the gutters and reducing the risk of overflow during heavy rain or hail. This thoughtful detail is particularly valuable for rural and exposed properties.
As the only UK manufacturer still producing handmade corrugated clay tiles, William Blyth is proud to preserve this rare roofing tradition. Thanks to careful planning and exceptional craftsmanship, the new roof was completed with just two cuts, despite previous attempts requiring numerous cuts at the verge, ridge, and eaves. The result is a beautifully considered roof that respects the building’s history while delivering durable, weather-ready performance.
