Bespoke Roof Tiles North Yorkshire
A private residence in North Yorkshire has been carefully restored with a new roof featuring William Blyth’s bespoke handmade clay roof tiles.
Installed by Geoff Neal Roofing, the project demonstrates how purpose-made roof tiles can preserve the character and authenticity of historic buildings.
Dating from the mid to late 1800s, the property required a sensitive approach to ensure the replacement roof reflected its original appearance. William Blyth produced Bespoke Dark Earth Handmade Medieval Tiles in a custom medieval size, carefully replicating the format and proportions of the original roof tiles. Attention to detail was key to maintaining the architectural integrity of the property.
William Blyth was specified for this project thanks to our ability to produce a close match to the original roof tiles. Their natural weathering characteristics also allow the new roof to blend quickly and naturally, creating an authentic finish that will continue to mature beautifully over time.
For heritage restorations, listed buildings and conservation projects where standard roof tiles are not suitable, our bespoke manufacturing capabilities enable us to recreate original tile sizes, profiles and finishes with exceptional attention to detail, helping preserve the character of historic buildings for future generations.
